During his career Richard has covered FIFA World Cup tournaments, UEFA European Championships, Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup and golf's four majors, as well as The Ryder Cup.
Richard has helped to develop products and processes to have significantly advanced the coverage of sporting events for Getty Images. One of the biggest projects has been the robotic camera system. Capable of installing and operating multiple robotic cameras where it's physically not possible to put a person. This technology has been used at London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Ashes cricket The Open Golf and in the entertainment industry awards including the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild awards and The Oscars.
Born in Watford, England in the mid seventies Richard grew up watching the golden era of The Hornets (Watford FC) through the eighties. A big sports fan who relishes working with athletes, event organisers and commercial clients and always has ideas to make images more exciting for the viewer.
Richard is an award winning sports photographer, culminating in being awarded the highly coveted Ed Lacey Trophy by the Sports Journalist Association in February 2020. He has over twenty years of experience in the industry, of which the last sixteen years have been with Getty Images.
